Saturday Spotlight 6/15/13

Good Saturday morning! It’s a good day here. Sister is back home after being at camp in Tennessee this week and my hubby is back home after being out of town for work for a few days. Baby Girl and I enjoyed our one on one time this week but it was a very nice feeling for us all to be back under the same roof last night.

We’re headed to watch a little baseball tonight. It’s part of our Father’s Day celebration for the hubby. It should be fun.

Here are a few things I want to shine the spotlight on this weekend.

Clean Eating Chocolate Banana Ice Cream from The Gracious Pantry

Grilled Ginger-Sesame Chicken Salad from Menu Musings of a Modern American Mom

Father’s Day Card Printable Coloring Sheet from Alpha Mom

Have a wonderful weekend!

Frugal Family Fun: Exploring Nature at the UWF Boardwalk

Summer break arrived for us this past weekend. The weather was beautiful Saturday so we wanted to get outside and enjoy it. The gulf was still rather rough from Tropical Storm Andrea so we decided to skip the beach. Instead, we decided to go explore one of the trails at the University of West Florida.

Baby Girl was stopped in her tracks by this sign.

But we encouraged her to keep going and she was quite relieved to realize we’d get to walk on a boardwalk.

We enjoyed taking it all in.

Much to Baby Girl’s relief, we didn’t see any poisonous snakes or alligators. We did, however, see a whole bunch of turtles.

We couldn’t help but just hang out and watch them for awhile.

We had a fun time outdoors and it only cost us the amount of gas needed to drive there and back. Exploring nearby trails is a great way to enjoy some frugal family fun.
