Have you ever baked bacon? I hadn’t until this weekend. I used to be a fry it up in the pan kind of girl but then switched to cooking it in the microwave. I don’t know why I did it that way. It never cooked evenly and yet I just kept doing it that way…for years.
The Man was working a long stretch of closes at the restaurant and I knew he’d be sleeping in Saturday morning so I planned to make a big brunch for us after he was awake for the day. I already had the biscuits in the oven and remembered the bacon. I really didn’t want microwaved bacon again so I decided to try baking it. It turned out great. It didn’t shrivel all up much and it was nice and crisp. It was really just perfectly cooked. And it was so simple!
If you’ve never tried baking bacon, give it a try.
Here’s how I did it:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees(my oven was already hot since I had the biscuits in there)
Lay bacon strips side by side but not overlapping on large, shallow baking sheet.
Bake 15-20 minutes until desired crispiness. I like mine pretty crisp and baked it right at 20 minutes.
I don’t think I’ll ever fry or microwave bacon again.
