Quick & Easy Treats: Brownies In A Waffle Iron

Yesterday morning I was perusing Pinterest when I came across the idea of making brownies in a waffle iron.

Well, I naturally thought the idea was just brilliant and had to give it a try. These are super easy to make and have the added bonus of cooking up quickly which is great when you want a chocolate fix and fast.

To make them:
  • Prepare your favorite brownie batter from scratch or a mix while the waffle iron is heating up.
  • Pour 1/3 of batter into waffle iron and let cook through, 4-5 minutes. My waffle iron has a light that goes off to signal when the batter is cooked through.
  • Remove from waffle iron onto plate and repeat process with the rest of the batter.

These are very soft when you first remove them from the waffle iron. Once you take them out, allow them to rest on the plate for a few minutes and they will form a nice crust on them. I think I like these better than traditional brownies because of the crust that forms; a little crunch on the outside and soft and chewy inside. Yum!

If you love brownies you’ve got to give these a try.

This is the first time I’ve ever used my waffle iron for anything other than waffles. Have you ever made anything other than waffles in your waffle iron?
