O’nana Smoothie

The first step my husband and I took earlier this year to healthier living was to incorporate smoothies into our diet on a regular basis. Smoothies are a great way to up the nutrients in your diet. There is just no way I could eat the variety of fruits and veggies in any given day that I get when I make a smoothie.

We generally make our smoothies with whatever we have on hand which results in “kitchen sink” smoothies most of the time. And while our oldest daughter will usually drink whatever smoothie we’ve made, our youngest is a little pickier.

There is one smoothie she will drink though.

This smoothie has just three ingredients and is a delicious and refreshing treat.

This smoothie is as delicious as it is refreshing.

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana, frozen*
  • 1 c. orange juice, freshly squeezed is ideal
  • 2 heaping T. plain Greek yogurt

Directions:

  • Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Enjoy!

If your smoothie is too thin, add ice and blend. If it is too thick, add a little orange juice and blend.

A frozen banana is ideal and will give you the best consistency. If your don’t have any frozen, add some crushed ice before blending.

You can also pour the smoothie mixture into a popsicle mold for a refreshing frozen treat.
