For When You Feel Unseen

I’ve been a stay-at-home-mom for over fifteen years. This is not a glamorous gig. Most of the work at-home-moms do is unseen by the world.

There is no monetary compensation for this job. There are no certificates, award ceremonies, or celebratory dinners.  Most of the time it takes years to see the fruit of our labor and in some cases we will never see it this side of heaven.

For When You Feel Unseen

If we’re not careful we can begin to feel that our work is insignificant and holds no value.

But that is a lie.

The truth is that the work we do will often go unnoticed by our children, and by our husbands, and most certainly by the rest of the world.

But it will  never go unnoticed by God.

El Roi- God who sees me

He sees all that we do, every act of kindness and service, and the heart behind it.

If we will remember that, it will change the way we live. It will help us remember that this life isn’t about us. It’s all about Him.

The way we serve our family is about Him.

The meals we serve, the laundry we do, the miles we drive, the lessons we teach, the love we give, is all about Him.

He sees every last bit of it.

He also sees every tear, every heartache, every hurt.

He sees and He cares.

That’s true for everyone, not just stay-at-home-moms.

No matter the circumstances or situation, no matter how desperate or alone you feel, you matter to Him.

God sees you and He cares.

He is El Roi.
