4 Ways To Earn Cash Back When You Shop

I love saving money on things I need. I’ve developed and learned a lot of strategies over the years to help me do that including combining coupons with sales and shopping clearance items and thrift stores.

Another favorite way of saving is to earn cash back on items I buy. Here are some of my favorites ways to earn cash back.

Cash Back When You Shop

Ebates

I’ve been using Ebates for nine years. I don’t do a lot of shopping online but when I do I make sure I go through Ebates and earn cash back on my purchases.

It’s really easy to use.

  • Go to Ebates.com.
  •  Search the store where you want to shop.
  • Click on the Shop Now button which will take you to the store’s website.

You’ll earn a percentage of your purchase by simply shopping through the Ebates link.   You’ll receive your cash back by check through the mail or PayPal quarterly as long as you’ve met the $5 minimum cash back balance. If not, it will be carried over to the next quarter.

With over 2,000 online retailers, chances are good that you can earn cash back from your favorite stores. Cash back amounts vary from 1% up to 40% of your purchase. Most of the time I earn between 2% and 6% from the stores I frequent but I do earn higher amounts from time to time.

Sign up for Ebates and start earning cash back today.

Ibotta

There are countless money saving and cash back apps and Ibotta has to be one of my favorites. It’s simple to use and the cash back adds up quickly.

I like that the cash back offers include items like meat and produce since you don’t often find coupons for those products.

Using Ibotta is simple:

  • Download the app.
  • View, select, unlock cash rewards.
  • Go shopping and purchase the items selected.
  • Verify your purchases by scanning the barcode and submitting your receipt.
  • Your cash back will be credited to your account within 48 hours.

You can also earn by linking your loyalty card to one of Ibotta’s Preferred Partners. Just unlock the cash back rewards in the app and then use your loyalty card when you shop.

You can cash out with a  $20 minimum through PayPal and Venmo or you can choose from a variety of gift cards including Amazon, Best Buy, Starbucks, Walmart, and more.

And when you sign up for Ibotta using my referral link you’ll get $10 added to your account which puts you well on your way to your $20 threshold.

Checkout 51

Similar to Ibotta, Checkout 51 is an app that lets you select the items you plan to purchase and then you get cash back when you submit your receipt that includes that item.

It doesn’t offer as many rebates as Ibotta but there are several to choose from. You can also get cash back on select produce which I always consider a nice bonus.

To use Checkout 51:

  • Download the app.
  • Select the items you plan to purchase.
  • Submit your receipt.
  • Receive cash back in your account.

You can request a check for your cash back once you reach the $20 threshold limit.

If you sign up for Check 51 with my referral link by June 15, 2016 and submit your first receipt by July 20, 2016, you’ll earn $5 cash back.

Receipt Hog

Receipt Hog is a little different. You’re not earning cash back on specific items. Instead you just scan your receipt and get coins based on the amount you’ve spent.

Once you reach 1,000 coins you can cash them in for $5 PayPal or a $5 Amazon e-gift card.

I like Receipt Hog because they accept a wide variety of receipts including grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants.

There are challenges and bonus opportunities to help you earn coins faster.

Download the Receipt Hog app to start collecting coins today.

There a certainly more cash back earning opportunities out there but these are the four I use most regularly.
